Creating greater experiences of inclusion and belonging is essential for Harvard’s community members to thrive and flourish; creating a supportive environment for better academic, professional and personal growth begins with conversation and discovery, and there is no endpoint in our goal.
Join fellow students, staff and scholars in story-telling and small-group conversations to explore what inclusion and belonging mean for our campus and to generate solutions, at a university-wide reflection and discovery workshop, an Afternoon of Engagement, on April 5 at Sanders Theatre, hosted by President Faust and Tracy Palandjian. Registration and Harvard ID (which includes Harvard-affiliated hospital ID) required for entry.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
I invite you to join me in Sanders Theatre on Wednesday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m., for an Afternoon of Engagement, organized by the Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging. Tracy Palandjian, member of the Board of Overseers, will join me as a host for this event, which we hope will be an exciting interactive workshop for students, staff, and faculty to explore what the concepts of inclusion and belonging mean for our campus. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend. Registration information and additional details can be found on the
event website. Similar events will take place around campus throughout the spring, and more information on those gatherings will be posted on the
Task Force website as details are finalized.
Diversity, inclusion, and belonging are not incidental concerns; they are fundamental to Harvard’s mission and identity. Exposure to difference fosters creativity, challenges settled assumptions, and helps make possible the advancement of knowledge central to our educational mission. We must create an open and inclusive campus environment that inspires a sense of belonging for all members of our community. The work ahead belongs to all of us, and I hope you will join me for this important event.
Sincerely,
Drew Faust
