Since then, technological advancements and creative entrepreneurs have revolutionized the way we socialize and form communities, learn, and conduct research and business. What will the next 25 years bring?

11:00 AM–12:30 PM Making Democracy Work: Stories from ParticipantsSanders Theatre, Memorial Hall
In a speech about six months before his assassination, President John F. Kennedy SB ’40 said the following: “the educated citizen has an obligation to serve the public. He may be a precinct worker or President. He may give his talents at the courthouse, the State house, the White House. He may be a civil servant or a Senator, a candidate or a campaign worker, a winner or a loser. But he must be a participant and not a spectator.”
Join us Saturday morning for a conversation led by several members of the Class of 1994 who will discuss how they, in their own different ways, are heeding President Kennedy’s call to be a participant in making our democracy work. After our classmates share their personal perspectives and experiences—which include activists, authors, attorneys, elected officials, historians, journalists, lobbyists, organizers, political scientists, volunteers, but no spectators!—we invite the audience to join the conversation, which promises to be lively.
